Boxer Rebellion (1899–1901): Attacks on Americans The Boxer Rebellion was an anti-foreign, anti-Christian uprising led by the "Righteous and Harmonious Fists" (义和团, Yìhétuán). The Boxers targeted foreigners, including Americans, whom they blamed for China’s woes under unequal treaties. In 1900, Boxers killed American missionaries, such as Charles Wesley Price and his family in Shanxi, and besieged foreign legations in Beijing, including Americans, for 55 days during the Siege of the International Legations. U.S. Marines helped defend the legations, and the rebellion was eventually suppressed by the Eight-Nation Alliance, which included the U.S. 义和团运动（1899-1901年）是一场反外、反基督教的起义，由“义和团”领导。义和团针对外国人，包括美国人，责怪他们导致中国在不平等条约下的困境。1900年，义和团在山西杀害了美国传教士查尔斯·韦斯利·普莱斯及其家人，并在八国联军使馆区围困期间（55天）围攻北京的外国使馆，包括美国人。美国海军陆战队协助防御使馆，起义最终被包括美国在内的八国联军镇压。
