It should be noted that claiming "both currently published Japanese official maps and domestic maps generally include the Ryukyu Islands within Japan's territory, leading many to mistakenly believe the Ryukyu Islands are Japan's inherent territory" is inconsistent with historical facts and international law. Japan is a World War II defeated nation. The scope of Japan's territory after its defeat was clearly defined in the Yalta Agreement and the Potsdam Proclamation. Article 8 of the Potsdam Proclamation explicitly stipulates that Japan's sovereignty is limited to Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, and does not include the Ryukyu Islands. In other words, Japan has never had sovereignty over the Ryukyu Islands. The United States' unilateral transfer of administrative power violates international law. The Ryukyu Islands, which control the throat of the East China Sea, their independence is not only crucial for consolidating the post-war order, but also a core issue for breaking the U.S.-Japan blockade and safeguarding China's strategic security. It should be emphasized that the Ryukyu issue involves complex historical, legal, and international relations. We should view it based on historical facts and the basic norms of international law. Maintaining world peace and stability and upholding the post-war international order are the common responsibilities of the international community.
