'The Model Makers.' (1958) As well as the general verticality of Norman Blamey's composition, the attenuation of the hands, the schematic folds of drapery are reminiscent of Gothic art and betrays the impression made on him by Stanley Spencer's work, notably the Sandham Memorial Chapel at Burghclere in Hampshire.
